A North Fork native’s top picks for a perfect Long Island weekend -- just in time for Labor Day.
Long Island summers and weekends are no secret to city dwellers. As a North Fork native and Brooklyn resident I get the best of both worlds, and the inside scoop on some new and some long-standing favorites to look out for on your next weekend out East.

Beach: New Suffolk Beach, Jackson St, New Suffolk

Dinner: American Beech Restaurant, Bar, and Suites Sterling Square, Greenport

Drinks: Frisky Oyster, Front St, Greenport;  Brix and Rye, Main St, Greenport

Farmers’ Market: Greenport Farmers’ market - Every Saturday until october 8th, 9am-1pm (in the lot at 170 South St at Second St)

Wine Tasting: There are so many great places to choose from, my personal favorites include Kontokosta Winery, North Rd, Greenport, and Mattabella Vineyard, Main Rd, Southold. If you prefer a cold beer to a crisp wine, check out Greenport Harbor Brewing Co, Main Rd, Southold

For the kids: Feed the goats at Goodale Farms, Main Rd, Riverhead;  Antique Carousel, Front St, Greenport
