Current Finds No. 10, 11.22

11/29/22
A Small Business: I was recently introduced to this children's book store in Lancaster PA by my sister in law, and will be shopping for books for the children in my life here for the holidays.

Article: Since there are so many incredible children’s books and it can feel hard to sort through, I liked looking at The Time’s article of theirs and the New York Public Library’s best illustrated children’s books of 2022.

Another small business: Rigor Hill Market recently opened in Tribeca, a tiny market and coffee shop with all of the produce coming from their farm as well as neighboring farms in the Hudson Valley.

Art: Over the holiday I visited the newly opened Rubell Museum in Washington DC and was taken the most with the work of Ghanian sculptor El Anatsui, a close up of his work Another Man’s Cloth, 2006 shown above.
Article: From T Magazine, an article about the modern take ceramicists are currently having with Moon Jars, including TPE favorite Clair Catilaz of Clam Lab.

Accessory:  I am a very practical person so this Balaclava in black is the new item I would like for the coming winter.

Show: Next in my queue is Hostages, a Docuseries on the 1979 Iran hostage crisis.

Place to Visit: Somehow I have never visited the Picture Collection at the NY Public Library and a visit is on my list to do in early 2023.

Cartoon: Since we have talked about books a lot in this email this cartoon seems fitting.
