Current Finds No. 9, 10.22

10/30/22
Interior: The home of the deeply influential and very private former fashion designer Helmut Lang in East Hampton ( as published in Upstate Diary ) was really exceptional to me.

Recipe: I made this soup last night and it was really simple and warming with the change of season.

Exhibition: If anyone is so lucky to have it aligned that they are in Paris for the few days that Thaddeus Mosley is at Musée Delacroix it looks like the nicest of ways to spend a wandering afternoon.

Another Exhibition: Closer to home our friends Of The Cloth are presenting their first group show “please hold” this Thursday November 3, from 6-9 pm at their store in Rockefeller Center.

Restaurant: This restaurant is where I would like my next dinner out to be.

Pattern: I am such a sucker for a simple stripe or check pattern especially when it is done in mostly blue. I loved this bathroom and this sheet combination.

Performance:  I would really like to see Transverse Orientation, a dance by director-choreographer Dimitris Papaioannou which is coming up as a part of BAM’s Next Wave 2022.

Cause: BAM is also now a drop off site for a collection drive for asylum seekers, see what is needed here.

Zero Waste: We spoke with Jenny of IXV recently about reducing single use plastic and her suggestion of Deliver Zero is such a great resource for those in our area to avoid take out containers.

Quote: “At some point in life the world’s beauty becomes enough. You don’t need to photograph, paint, or even remember it. It is enough. No record of it needs to be kept and you don’t need someone to share it with or tell it to. When that happens — that letting go — you let go because you can.” - Toni Morrison Tar Baby
