Uma Hand Block-printed Linen Pillow
Hand block-printed pillow from Soil to Studio. Inspired by their hometown, the collection is designed to embody the romance and poetic feel of the city of Udaipur. Designed in New York, made in India.
Delicately block-printed by a small cooperative run by master block-printers, in a small village near Jaipur. They are passionate about their craft and say ‘no’ to higher paying factory jobs because this is what they identify themselves with – "craft", which their fathers and grandfathers mastered and passed it down to them. What seems like a simple stamping process, requires incredible skill, practice and a very steady hand. We love and support block printed fabrics which tell a story of craftsmanship, human touch, and of the people and families behind the craft. By choosing this handmade piece, you help preserve craftsmanship and support rural artisan communities.
